Course
Selection Overview
Okay,
there're a lot - read thousands - of guitar courses out there. So why
did I select the ones that are on this page?
First of all,
am I claiming that these are the only ones that you should consider or
that they're the absolute best? Nope!
If I did
that, I'd be less than honest and blowing smoke. Why? Because no matter
what many review sites out there claim, there're so many courses that
it's impossible for anyone to try them all and categorically state that
this or that is the best.
Besides that,
each of us is different, learns differently and approaches learning
from a different perspective. What may be right for me isn't
necessarily right for you and so on.
So. based on
that, what I set out to do was find a cross section of courses that
have been around for a while - so the chances are good that they won't
disappear overnight - and that have achieved a significant level of
popularity which suggests that they have a large student base and that
that student base is sufficiently satisfied to not be badmouthing the
course all over the net.
I also looked
at the presentation and the medium or mediums used to deliver the
courses - again, to allow for different preferences.
Here are some
comments and observations on the individual teach yourself guitar

This is
the relative newcomer of the courses listed. More and more active

around learning the tunes that the over 40 crowd will have grown up
with and enjoyed in their youth (Beatles, etc.). Delivered online.
Tuition is a flat
$47.00 for everything, which is a great price point.
